Our quality of life comes down to our relationships in so many ways. Our relationship with ourselves and our relationship with others will set the course for how we show up each day and what we do and who we are being in our life which ultimately determines if we are living our life on our authentic terms.

Boundaries are what help establish our space and place in the world. Boundaries allow us to uphold our values, get our needs met consistently and to thrive in freedom, peace and joy as the wonderfully wired human that you are.
So often Ali and I hear clients share with us that they feel as if they have lost themselves somewhere along the way in their relationships due to masking and more. Ali and I have also experienced this in our AuDHD lives and have proven strategies to help you show up and feel like you in all your relationships.
When I ask the question, "Did you learn about boundaries growing up?" Most people laugh and reply "What boundaries?!" Well this was also my answer. I didn't grow up talking about boundaries or what they were or even meant. If this is your response too, well you are in the right place.
In many relationships this is what both partners would respond and when that is the experience, having two people in a relationship who aren't really sure what boundaries are or how to use them as a tool, there is often conflict, misunderstandings and loads of hurt feelings along the way.
This course on boundaries will help you learn what boundaries really are, the 7 types and three styles of boundaries and how to begin identifying them in your life and relationships. We will also help you begin to set and practice the top boundaries to get your relationships working FOR you.
And there are 3 different STYLES of Boundaries to accompany those boundary types. But now, I look back and can hardly believe that difficult life was mine.

The illnesses are under control
The abusive partners are history.
The bouts of extreme depression and suicidal ideations are a thing of the past.
I’m joyful almost all the time in most circumstances

Hi, I am Ali Arena Perkinson and I’m a therapist, social communication detective, behavior pattern detector, life long learner, proud #ADHER, dog mom, champagne & pizza woman, and my specialty is neurodiverse communication.
The way I found out I had ADHD was by a beautiful accident. I was at my therapist’s office, venting about how I just can’t seem to keep up with all the expectations of getting my doctorate, being a girlfriend, and flying back to New Jersey to be in 10 weddings (yes that is correct 10), and my therapist who I had known for three years says, “Well yes, that’s your ADHD.” I laughed and said, “I don’t have ADHD,” and she awkwardly backtracked and went “Oh, I just assumed we both were under the impression you’d been diagnosed since you were little.”
I later learned, because I am a therapist, I was already adding in so many therapeutic supports to my own life that I viewed everything I experienced as “normal” but other people saw it as therapeutic interventions. I then took a battery of tests (because I am a nerd and love neuropsychology testing), found a great psychiatrist, and a medication that works for me.
I think more about my executive dysfunctions and plan around them now. This new understanding of me now helps when I put on my ADHD glasses and view those areas where I was feeling shame about finances, meal planning, and hating being at parties. I am so lucky to have a partner who works with my quirks and allows me to test strategies that help other neurodivergent couples.
I am just a girl who has found some answers and I am here to share them with you.
Values are the basis for forming our boundaries and as we being Part 1 of Boundaries we will be diving into the more concrete boundaries on our list of 7 types of boundaries this month: Physical, Material and Time. Our Zone of Safety allows us to begin setting boundaries with confidence.
